&lt;p&gt;I have a very sucessful carpool in Central Florida that has operated for nearly 2 years. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;130mi/day I-4 - I 275 between Lakeland and Clearwater, Fl &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;IT IS AWESOME! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have two riders which makes my effective MPG 63MPG! That's better that any gas/elec hybrid gets.&lt;/p&gt;

I would think an effective marketing plan, targeted by zip codes of the members would bring the members of each area together. A little mapping would be involved here.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; Seems members are many, &amp;nbsp;but all spread out, on their own to market an expensive site that should be marketed by the creator. Also, getting the major businesses involved &amp;nbsp;that are close to each other(market by zip code and street) , would get potential lists of all commuters in their company to find more matches. Especially the companies that do background checks upon employment, so riders and drivers would have a little extra safety, comfort. &amp;nbsp;That's how I would do &amp;nbsp;it, and because of the marketing expense, is why I didn't.&lt;/p&gt;
